Advanced Marine Opens Office In Washington

Advanced Marine Enterprises, Inc. is a newly established corporation in the Washington, D.C., area, formed by Simon Glatz as president, together with Otto Jons as vice president of engineering, John T. Drewry, vice president of operations, and Jay Dor, director of management sciences.

The company has been awarded a multi-year contract with the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Glatz, for the past two years, worked for Designers & Planners, Inc. (a subsidiary of Todd Shipyards Corporation) in the Washington area. Prior to this position, Mr. Glatz was with the J.J. Henry Co., Inc.'s office in Hyattsville, Md. His experience includes positions with Litton Ship Systems, IBM, Hughes and Grumman. He has both B.S. and M.S. degrees in engineering.

Mr. Jons has been technical director of the Designers & Planners, Inc., Washington office for the past two years. Mr. Jons was formerly principal research scientist at Hydronautics, Inc., prior to which he held management positions with Litton Ship Systems.

He holds B.S. and M.S.

degrees in naval architecture and marine engineering from the Technical University of Hanover, West Germany, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, respectively.Mr. Drewry comes from the Naval Ship Engineering Center, where he was ship design manager for the AEGIS Destroyer (DDG-47) Project. Prior to this, he was with Litton Ship Systems, Inc. Mr. Drewry holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in naval architecture and marine engineering from the University of Michigan and M.I.T., respectively, and will shortly receive an M.B.A. degree from George Washington University.

Mr. Dor has been manager of the Electrical and Computer Systems Department of the George G. Sharp, Inc. Washington office for the past three years. Mr. Dor has been engaged in a variety of technical and management information system-related tasks in support of the U.S. Navy. He formerly was with Hydronautics, Inc., Litton Ship Systems, and Garret-Airesearch. He holds B.S.

and M.S. degrees in engineering.
