ITT Decca Marine Names Three Managers
Richard V. Warden, president of ITT Decca Marine, Inc., 40 West 57th Street, New York, N.Y. 10019, has announced the appointment of Peter Bauer as product line manager of echosounders, autopilots and gyrocompasses, of the newly formed Products Management Group; John G. Smith as manager, communications products, and Nigel P. Fountaine as area manager for the Northeastern area.
Mr. Bauer brings to ITT Decca Marine extensive experience in the marine field, which started by entering the Argentine Naval Academy, where he graduated in 1960 and served later as a Naval officer. He also attended the Engineering Institute of Technology, majoring in electronics.
After leaving the Engineering Institute of Technology, he joined O.R. Klein, Inc., a naval electronics company in Buenos Aires, in the capacity of sales engineer and later sales manager.
Mr. Smith, who has been market research analyst for ITT Decca Marine for almost two years, has joined the Products Management Group. His responsibilities are to coordinate all technical, sales and marketing support for the communication products, with ITT Decca Marine and its dealers.
Mr. Smith has prior sales and marketing experience with International B.F. Goodrich, and held the position of automotive and aeronautical sales representative with their New York district office. He is a graduate of St.
Peter's College, and is presently pursuing his M.B.A. degree at Fordham University.
Mr. Fountaine joined Decca Radar Ltd., London in 1963, and worked extensively on heavy airport radar. Later he transferred to the Plessey group, working initially on environmental testing and later in sales in the U.S. In 1974, Mr. Fountaine joined ITT Decca Marine as the national service administrator. He has an extensive background in marine electronics and considerable knowledge of the marine field in the U.S.
