GE Appoints Noonan Ma nager Of Marketing For Marine Gas Turbines

Donald J. Noonan has been named manager of marketing for the Marine and Industrial Products Department of General Electric's Aircraft Engine Group.

In announcing Mr. Noonan's appointment, O.R. Bonner, general manager, said that Mr.

Noonan will have worldwide responsibility for marketing gas turbines for marine and industrial applications, derived from GE's aircraft engines.

Mr. Noonan succeeds T.T. Balfour, who has been named to a new position in GE's Industrial Gas Turbine Department.

In Geneva, Nicholas Baker will continue as sales manager for marine gas turbines in Europe and the Middle East, and Gary Whalen will continue as sales manager for industrial applications in Europe. John Mann joined the company on December 1 as sales manager for the Middle East market for industrial gas turbines. All three will report to Kurt N. Fischel, vice president and general manager of European Aircraft Engine Operations.

For the past two years, Mr.

Noonan has been manager of marketing for Europe and the Middle East for the Marine and Industrial Products Department, located in Geneva, Switzerland.

He is a graduate of the U.S.

Merchant Marine Academy. His previous experience includes service as merchant marine engineer, and engineering and sales posts with United Technologies Corporation, and Pan American World Airways.

For two years, before joining GE in 1974, he was director of Australian sales for United Aircraft International. In his new assignment, Mr. Noonan will be based in Evendale, Ohio.
