MMC Introduces New Continuous Reading Tank Gauging System

A second generation development of Marine Moisture Control Company's widely accepted sonic point probe system has resulted in an efficient and extremely precise new MMC Sonic Tank Gauging System for both marine and land-based installations.

An unusual feature of the new system provides the versatility of localized deck readout in addition to the remotely located digital readout.

The heart of the system is an intrinsically-safe sonic signal generated by a pair of matched piezoelectric crystals in a stainlesssteel probe which is automatically and precisely raised or lowered to meet the rise or fall of the level of the liquid in the tank.

SIS I N C a Solid-state electronics throughout provide signal conditioning and transmission. A high-precision stepping motor, housed within a gas-tight deck-mounted unit, controls the up and down movement of a calibrated tape from which the gauging probe is suspended.

A small, gas-tight viewing port for local ullage reading is located at the top of the tankmounted unit.

Provision for remote positioning of the probe at a predetermined point allows the equipment to be used as an adjustable highlevel alarm, to which relay contacts to automatically actuate pumps and valves may be tied in.
