Henry Diercxsens Named Vice President Atlantic Overseas Corp.

Eric de Spirlet, president of Atlantic Overseas Corporation, Five World Trade Center, New York, N.Y. 10048, has announced the appointment of Henry Diercxsens as vice president of Atlantic Overseas Corporation.

Mr. de Spirlet went on to say: "We are delighted to have Mr. Diercxsens join our organization with his expertise, as both our services, NAWAL West African Line and MEGA Middle East Line, are more and more involved with ro/ro and containers.

Mr. Diercxsens is a true professional in the development of the intermodal trend of our maritime industry." Mr. Diercxsens is a graduate of the University of Antwerp with a degree in maritime and business administration, and also attended the University of Wisconsin.

He started his business career with the Agence Maritime Internationale in Antwerp, the operating company of the Belgian Line. He also was associated with Deppe Line in Antwerp and its USA Gulf service. Arriving in the United States in 1965, he joined the Belgian Line in its trans-Atlantic service and became a vice president in charge of traffic.

In 1969, when Dart Containerline was initiated, Mr. Diercxsens was appointed vice president of container services and made a major contribution to the development of Dart.

Mr. Diercxsens in 1974 served as chairman of the Steamship Operators Intermodal Committee.

Mr. Diercxsens recently joined AOC and has been involved with new ro/ro activities of NAWAL Line, and also the expansion of the container activities to West Africa.

Mr. Diercxsens is a member of the Downtown Athletic Club and various maritime organizations.
