The Cordage Group Promotes W.S. Stroud And P.S. Bowes

New appointments in its sales organization have been announced in Auburn, N.Y., at The Cordage Group, Division of Columbian Rope Company. William S. Stroud, formerly eastern regional manager, has been appointed national market manager-heavy marine. This is a new post, reflecting the importance of the heavy marine field in The Cordage Group's marketing and production, according to general sales manager C.W.

Loomis. Paul S. Bowes, formerly southern region sales representative, succeeds Mr.

Stroud as eastern regional manager.

Mr. Stroud, who has been with The Cordage Group since 1953, was eastern regional manager for 11 years. Before that, he was Pacific regional manager. In his new position, Mr. Stroud will coordinate sales effort and work closely with heavy marine customers, particularly those requiring delivery at multiple locations. He will continue to make his headquarters at the division's New York City office.

Mr. Bowes brings 10 years' experience with The Cordage Group to his new position.

He was sales representative for the southern region for four years, and had been assigned to the Pacific region prior to that.

The Cordage Group, Division of Columbian Rope Company, one of the country's leading rope manufacturers, produces a full range of three-strand, plaited, and braided ropes for the marine, hardware, fishing, pleasure boating, and general industrial and consumer markets. It has plants in Auburn, N.Y., Maspeth, N.Y., and New Orleans, La.
