Drillship To Install Sperry Marine Systems Sensing Equipment

Sperry Marine Systems, Great Neck, N.Y., has received an order from Delco Electronics Division of General Motors Corporation for Sperry RISANGLOR® vertical sensing equipment. Sperry is a division of Sperry Rand Corporation.

RISANGLOR will be installed with Delco's dynamic positioning system on Neddrill-2, the second drillship of Neddrill Nederland B.V., a recently founded Dutch drilling contractor.

RISANGLOR transmits a continuous visual indication of the riser angle to Delco's dynamic positioning computer. The ship's thrusters are activated automatically by the computer to maintain the marine riser within preset vertical tolerances. RISANGLOR provides audible and visual alarms to indicate when the riser has exceeded limits of inclination.

RISANGLOR equipment is manufactured by Sperry in England and is based upon a design originating with, and under license from, B.P. Trading Limited.

RISANGLOR is a trademark of the British Petroleum Company, Ltd.
