Cryogenic Structures Receives Contract For LNG Insulation

Another contract for manufacturing support and leveling members of insulation panel systems for liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers has been awarded to Cryogenic Structures Corporation, a subsidiary of BALTEK Corporation, Northvale, N.J.

The tankers are being built under contract for El Paso Natural Gas Company by Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, a Tenneco company, Newport News, Va.

BALTEK Corporation, through its CSC subsidiary, operates unique facilities designed for this specific work. BALTEK has been involved in the design and fabrication of the insulation systems in over 40 percent of tankers now engaged in the commercial LNG trade, according to the firm.
