Hitachi Announces Top Management Appointments

Hitachi Zosen, Tokyo, Japan, has announced the assignment of new management positions. At a recent meeting of the board of directors, Masaru Hattori was elected the new chairman, and Toshio Murayama was elected the new president of the company, effective immediately.

In addition, new vice presidents, managing directors and people in other key positions have been appointed as follows: Shozo Kawaguchi— executive vice president for administration headquarters; Shojiro Okada—executive vice president for shipbuilding; Kazuro Chihara—executive vice president and plant general manager; Toshio Ebata—executive vice president for planning; Shuichi Asano—executive vice president for technology and development; Masao Maruyama—managing director general manager of offshore headquarters; Rikio Maki— managing director, domestic sales plant and machinery; Toshiyasu Jogu—managing director, personnel and administration; Junichi Furukawa—managing director, export business, plant and machinery; Akira Ogawa—director, deputy general manager of plant and machinery headquarters; Fujio Nishioka—director, deputy general manager of shipbuilding headquarters; Toshio Eyama— director, manager of Osaka sales office; Daizo Nakao—director, deputy general manager of shipbuilding headquarters; Toshiro Nagata—general manager of Tokyo office; Chikaomi Tanaka— general manager of general affairs dept.; Yoshio Miwa—general manager of international ship sales; Shigeo Asaka—general manager of Oslo office; Kohei Kotegawa— manager of finance and accounting dept.; Hiroki Inoue—director of Hitachi Zosen International S.A., London; Haruo Moriyama—president of Hitachi Zosen U.S.A.; and Mitsuo Aoyama—director of Hitachi Zosen U.S.A. Ltd.
