The American Club Continues To Grow

The American Steamship Owners Mutual Protection and Indemnity Association, Inc.

(the American Club), 25 Broad Street, New York, N.Y. 10004, has announced that three new shipping companies have been added to its growing roster of members.

New members include McAllister Bros., Inc. of New York (the Club's first tug and barge company), the Cement Division of National Gypsum Company, Michigan (the Club's first Great Lakes member), and Antilles Shipping Company, Ltd. (The Steuber Group), New York.

This is the third successive year that the American Club has increased its membership, according to John H. Cassedy, secretary of the P&I Club and president of Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc., which manages the Club. Mr. Cassedy reported that since 1975 ten new members have joined the Club, and that today the Club is larger than it has ever been in its 60-year history.

The Club, which has been in existence since 1917, is the only nonprofit mutual P & I insurance club in the United States and offers Protection & Indemnity coverage for shipping companies of all nations.
