K.E. Sheehan Elected Vice President Of ABS

Kenneth E. Sheehan, counsel to the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), was elected a vice president of ABS at the annual meeting of the Society's board of managers, held in New York, N.Y., on March 15.

Mr. Sheehan, formerly associated with the law firm of Kirlin, Campbell, and Keating of New York, holds a BSBA degree in finance from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., and a J.D. degree from Fordham University, New York.

He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Maritime Law Association, and is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Sheehan has served as counsel to ABS and its wholly owned subsidiary companies — ABS Worldwide Technical Services, Ire., Exam Company, and ABS Computers, Inc.—since joining the organization in May of 1976. His office is located at the Society's headquarters, 45 Broad Street, New York, N.Y.

The American Bureau of Shipping is a nongovernmental, worldwide ship classification society which establishes internationally accepted standards, called Rules, for the design, construction, and periodic survey of merchant vessels and other marine structures.
