Fail-Safe Oil Heaters Described By Sunrod

Introduction in this country of a line of fail-safe, compact oil heaters with a wide range of capacities and proven reliability has been announced by Sunrod Products, Inc.

The Sunrod oil heaters for heavy grade oils are designed for land or marine use. Applications include suction heaters in storage tanks and ship cargo holds; preheaters for fuel oil in boiler plants; and to heat or cool fluids in chemical plants.

Sunrod is the wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of AB Svenska Maskinverken (boiler specialists for over 50 years), which is owned by Sweden's Saab-Scania.

According to Gunnar Jakobson, president of Sunrod, the company's oil heaters use the same patented Sunrod principle employed in Sunrod Waste Heat Recovery Boilers. This involves the welding of steel or copper rods having good transmission properties to the face of a tube.

The unique extended surface design increases the heat exchanging surface for the heaters eightfold.

Mr. Jakobson pointed out that Sunrod oil heaters have been in use for over 20 years, with over 30,000 in operation throughout the world.
