Shipping Research Services Announces New Appointments

Shipping Research Services Inc., 205 South Whiting Street, Alexandria, Va. 22304, has announced the appointment of Antonio Manchinu as general manager and treasurer of its U.S.-based office in Alexandria, Va. Mr. Manchinu was recently transferred from Shipping Research Services A/S in Oslo, Norway, where he was head of the shipyard control activities.

Rudolf Doornbos, former general manager of SRS Inc., will remain with the affiliate company as manager for the AUTOKON Department of SRS A/S in Norway.

Frank McConnell has joined SRS Inc. as a senior shipyard consultant. Most recently with Harbor Marine Industries and Ingalls Shipbuilding, Mr. McConnell's 20 years of shipbuilding and repair experience have been concentrated in the planning, production engineering and production aspects of shipyard operations.

Bill Gassaway has joined SRS Inc. after having served 20 years in the marine industry in the field of marine fabrication, engineering, lofting and development of N/C programming. His most recent services were with Ingalls Shipbuilding and Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Sales as engineer and supervisor in the development of N/C programming activities. Mr. Gassaway's capacity will be in the area of sales promotion and continued cultivation of N/C lofting services at SRS Inc.

Shipping Research Services is an international shipbuilding, shipping and offshore consulting firm specializing in shipyard expansion, modernization and management control systems and in development of technical computer programs, including AUTOKON and AUTOFIT.
