Uniflite Elects McGown Vice President-Contracts

Seabury C. McGown has been elected vice president-contracts of Uniflite, Inc., fiberglass boat manufacturer of Bellingham, Wash., and Swansboro, N.C., with responsibility for governmental marketing, bidding, and contract administration and other commercial boat business, according to James J. Doud Jr., Uniflite president.

Mr. McGown joined Uniflite in 1967 as chief engineer after 11 years as a civilian engineer at the U.S. Navy's Bureau of Ships in Washington, D.C. In 1975, he was appointed manager of military and commercial boat sales and since 1977 has been manager of contracts administration.

Established in 1957, Uniflite is a diversified builder of fiberglass boats including luxury power yachts, Valiant cruising sailboats, the new Yacht Home liveaboard cruisers, special purpose patrol boats, excursion, research and commercial fishing boats. For more than two decades, the company has been the leading supplier of fiberglass boats to the U.S. Navy.
