Wartsila Delivers 16 Vasa 32 Engines For Norwegian Supply Vessels

Wartsila Diesel of Finland will deliver 16 Vasa 32 engines for Norwegian offshore vessels under construction in Singapore.

Wartsila Vasa 32 main engines will be installed in the four tug supply vessels ordered by the Norwegian Viking Supply Ships A.S. at the Argos Engineering Pte. Ltd. shipyard.

Each vessel will be equipped with two six-cylinder and two eightcylinder Vasas 32s having a total output of 11,480 kw at 750 rpm.

The vessels are of the Maritime Engineering design type ME.303 Mark II with an overall length of about 242 feet, deadweight of 2,880 tons and bollard pull of 170 tons.

Besides the main engines, Wartsila Diesel will deliver the entire propulsion equipment for the vessels, including CP propellers and gears. The propellers are of the Wartsila Wichmann PR 90/4 type.

Three of the vessels are scheduled for completion by the end of the year, and the fourth one in January next year. All vessels will be operating in the North Sea For free literature on Wartsila Diesel engines, Circle 29 on Reader Service Card
