IMODCO In Joint Venture For North Sea Operations

A new company, to be known as Press Imodco Offshore Terminals, Ltd., has been formed to design, fabricate and supply offshore marine terminal facilities in the North Sea and other offshore waters of the United Kingdom.

It is a joint venture between William Press Production Systems, Ltd. of Wallsend Tyne and Wear, England, and IMODCO, Inc. of Los Angeles, Calif., a wholly owned subsidiary of Amtel, Inc. of Providence, R.I.

William Press Production Systems has practical experience in the construction of heavy steel structures, modules and packages for major oil and construction companies operating in the North Sea and other areas of the world.

IMODCO is a pioneer in the offshore marine terminal field, having designed, constructed and installed some 60 such facilities for locations throughout the world.

T. Woodhead, director and general manager of WPPS, has been elected managing director of the new company. Its creation provides a valuable additional resource to satisfy the specialized requirements of the offshore oil and gas industry.
