Northeast Marine Elects F.X. McQuade President

F.X. McQuade, a long-time executive in seaborne cargo movement and ship terminal operations in the Port of New York, has been elected president and chief operating officer of Northeast Marine Terminal Co., Inc., Foot of 39th Street, Brooklyn, N.Y.

He succeeds Capt. Russell W.

Neitz as the top officer of the firm, operating a 140-acre terminal on the Brooklyn waterfront, that is the largest multipurpose facility in New York Harbor.

Mr. McQuade, who was also elected a company director, has held policy-making and operational roles with major stevedoring companies dating back to 1949. He previously served in multiple positions including assistant to the president with the John W. McGrath Corp., and later was president of International Terminal Operating Co., Inc.

He has also served as a director of New York Shipping Association, New York Terminal Conference, the Council of North Atlantic Shipping Associations, and the National Association of Stevedores, and was president of the General Stevedoring Council which represents cargo-handling companies in 30 countries worldwide.
