Mark Controls Expands SD Butterfly Control Valve Line
—Free Literature Available Mark Controls Corporation's Center Line Series SD butterfly control valve line has been expanded to include the SDT, a heavy duty, 300-psi rated valve. The SDT, as well as the other series SD butterfly control valves, have been designed for low-flow-rate-control applications involving gaseous, liquid or slurry flow media, where tight shutoff is not required. Shutoff leakage capabilities for these valves range from 0.5 percent to 2 percent of the maximum capacity for liquid flow depending on specific materials of construction and temperature parameters.
Series SD butterfly valves are available in standard temperature options of 500°, 850° and 1,200° F, as well as optional configurations for applications up to 1,600°F. All SD Series valves except the SDL and SDM are designed with an outboard combination radial/thrust bearing, which provides easy shaft rotation and allows the valve to be installed with the shaft in either the vertical or horizontal position.
Center Line Series SD valves are wafer style butterfly valves available in sizes ranging from 2 to 36 inches. Standard construction materials are a cast iron body, ductile iron disc and corrosion- resistant steel shaft. The valves are also available in many other material configurations to satisfy the operating parameters of almost any application.
