Corrosion Engineers Name Bernard Schmidt

Bernard R. Schmidt, a sales engineer in the cathodic protection department of Federated Metals Corporation (a subsidiary of ASARCO Incorporated), has been named chairman of the Metropolitan New York Section of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE).

Mr. Schmidt, who previously served as vice chairman of the group, has been a member of NACE since 1964. He has been involved in corrosion control work since 1961, when he joined the sales staff of Federated Metals Canada Limited. He was transferred to Federated Metals' Cathodic Protection Department, now located in Somerville, N.J., in 1964. Federated Metals is involved in the corrosion control field as a producer of aluminum, magnesium and zinc anodes for cathodic protection systems, corrosion- resistant aluminum and copper base alloys, and zinc dust for protective coatings.
