Gulf Trading & Transportation Promotes W. Stark And J. Allen

Gulf Trading & Transportation Company, 1290 Avenue of the Americas, New York, N.Y. 10019, has announced the promotions of William E. Stark and James B. Allen.

Gulf Trading & Transportation Company is a division of Gulf Oil Corporation.

Mr. Stark has been promoted to manager, international marine sales, Western Hemisphere.

In his new position in New York, Mr.

Stark will be responsible for marine sales in the Western Hemisphere.

Mr. Stark joined Gulf in 1963 as a marine sales engineer in Houston, Texas, and has served in a variety of positions both in New York and London relating to international marine sales.

He attended public schools in Riverhead, Long Island, N.Y., and graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y., in 1950. He served in the U.S.

Merchant Marine as a marine engineer and in the U.S. Navy as an engineering officer.

He is a member of The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, and The Society of Marine Port Engineers New York, N.Y., Inc. He holds a chief engineer's license.

Mr. Allen has been promoted to the position of manager, international marine lubricant sales and technical services, Western Hemisphere. He also will be located in New York City.

Mr. Allen joined Gulf in 1950 and has served in a variety of marketing and technical service capacities related to the sales and applications of fuels and lubricants. His most recent position was that of director of technical services, Gulf Trading & Transportation Company. In his new position, Mr.

Allen will be responsible for the sales of marine lubricants to international fleet accounts.

Mr. Allen is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He is a member of The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, The Society of Marine Port Engineers New York, N.Y., Inc., and The Institute of Marine Engineers, London.
