Harold Neville Named Chief Design Engineer Portsmouth Naval Yard

Harold F. Neville Jr. has been promoted to chief design engineer in the Planning Department's Design Division at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, N.H. He started his career at Portsmouth in April 1959 as an electronics engineer in the Design Division. He joined the supervisory force in September 1963.

He was reassigned to PERA(SS) from September 1967 to May 1973 as a supervisory general engineer.

He returned to Design in May 1973 as a supervisory electrical engineer.

He has been commended for outstanding work on numerous occasions, has received a Superior Achievement Award and Two Quality Salary Increases for work performance.

Mr. Neville graduated from Keith Academy, Lowell, Mass., and earned a B.S. degree in electronics engineering from Lowell Technological Institute. He holds an M.S. degree in engineering management from Northeastern University, Burlington, Mass. He served in the U.S. Air Force from September 1958 to March 1959.

Mr. Neville is a member of the Society of Electronics Engineers and has had articles published in the Naval Sea Systems Command's Technical Journal. He is chairman-elect of the Northern New England Section, American Society of Naval Engineers for 1977.
