Zapata Bulk Transport Names Skeele President

Robert B. Skeele has been named president of Zapata Bulk Transport, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Zapata Corporation, Zapata Tower, P.O. Box 4240, Houston, Texas 77001. The Houston-based company operates a fleet of U.S.-flag products tankers in international trade.

Mr. Skeele is a veteran of more than 20 years' management experience in the shipping industry.

He has been associated with Zapata since 1971, most recently as vice president of Zapata Bulk Transport and previously as a vice president of Zapata Naess Shipping Company Limited, a foreign-flag operation which Zapata sold in 1973. Mr. Skeele is a graduate of Amherst College and of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

He replaces Harrison R. Glennon, who is retiring from Zapata Bulk Transport, but will serve the company as a consultant and agent in New York.

Other organizational changes at ZBT include the following: James R. Fulcher has been named vice president-engineering, with responsibility for new vessel construction and repair of existing vessels. He comes to ZBT from Zapata Technical Services Corporation, where he was vice president-new construction. Mr.

Fulcher holds bachelor's and master's degrees in naval architecture from the University of Durham, England.

Joe F. Vaughan Jr. has been promoted to vice president-operations.

He has been associated with Zapata since 1974, most recently as manager of products tanker operations. A graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, he holds a master's license and has an MBA degree from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School of Finance).

Gary Kesslar has been promoted to manager of chartering for the Zapata Bulk Transport fleet. He joined the company early last year as a planning analyst.

He is a graduate of the University of Texas and holds an MBA degree from the University of Montana.
