Lemont Shipbuilding Elects Roche President

Peter J. Roche has been elected president of the Lemont Shipbuilding and Repair Company, located at Mile 300 on the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal, Lemont, 111. 60439.

From 1974 until now, Mr Roche served as general superintendent of Reynolds Shipyard Corporation, Staten Island, N.Y., specializing in voyage repairs for oceangoing steamships of major shipping concerns. He is a graduate of Brown University, attended Fordham Law School, and served three years in the U.S.

Army.

From 1966 to 1974, as president of Sound Shipbuilding Corporation, College Point, N.Y., he was engaged in the design, construction and repair of barges and towboats for the oil and aggregate industries on the East Coast.

With his 28 years of experience in the marine industry, he will now head up Lemont Shipyard's activities.

Lemont performs no-waiting repair and maintenance work with its 2,700-ton Syncrolift drydock and tracked transfer system, plus conversion and new construction work.
