MagneTek's PCB Testing Ensures EPA Compliance
The testing of Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB's) has become an important consideration for electrical equipment and environmental managers because of strict Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. MagneTek, of Louisville, Ohio, offers an extensive PCB testing program, from the field sampling of electrical equipment insulating fluid to the disposal of samples at EPA approved facilities. Test samples can also be mailed-in to the company for analysis.
PCB contamination level testing is the first step in identifying regulatory requirements for maintenance, repair, record keeping and disposal.
Awareness of contamination levels also gives managers the ability to make reliable decisions regarding repair/replacement or disposal due to equipment failure or oil spill.
The manufacturing arm of MagneTek, based in Los Angeles, produces electrical products and services including: lighting ballasts and transformers; motors and controls; electronic adjustable frequency drives; power conversion systems; large special motors (to 30,000 hp) and generators; and power transformers to 100 megawatts.
MagneTek also repairs and rebuilds motors, generators and transformers for utility and industrial customers.
